After conducting my research and studying my results, I decided to make rough designs for my front cover, contents page and double page spread. I understood that I didn't have to stick to my rough design ideas throughout the project so I knew I could make changes later on after planning everything properly. Doing my research has improved my vision of how I want my final magazine to look like, because it allowed me to understand what the current market is into nowadays.
To construct my magazine rough designs, I had looked at different magazines to grasp an idea of how I wanted my magazine to look like as well as a guide of what conventions and features I should include. It also gave me a chance of what kind of photographs I would need in my final pages.

This is my rough design for my front cover page. It follows some conventions such as a banner and buzz words, however I did challenge some conventions by not including a masthead or by placing it in a different angle. There is a female model wearing a tight dress to gather the male gaze. There is also a quote in the front page.
This is my contents page rough design. I have included the name of my magazine on the contents page to create extra brand identity. On the left hand page here is a rapper and next to him is speech bubble that says 'y'all ready for this?'. This is so that the audience of my magazine would feel like they are being spoken to. The layout of this magazine is also following conventions such as including page numbers and mentioning the word contents. I have also included links for social networks so that I could have a multi platform approach as well as comments on my magazine.
Finally, this is my double page spread. In this page, I have followed some rules of conventions while challenging others. There is also a quote in the middle, this is found commonly in double page spreads. For instance, I have used a drop capital at the start of my article to let people know it is a new article, as well as using tomb stone. I also challenged some conventions. For instance, I spread out my image over the two pages.
